Tuile d'amande: Almond Tile (杏仁瓦片)

         I almost forgot this interesting shape cookie until Ivorine said her sister liked it.  Tuile d'amande, which is almond tile in English, has the shape of a tile. A more sensual saying is that women of Provence put the cookies on their thighs to make this curving shape. The cookie recalls you also the shape of women's beautiful legs.  No matter tiles or women's legs, it looks lovely: golden on the sides, blond in the center, slightly curved. And it's thin and crispy with a falvor of toasted sliced almonds.

Banana Bread (香蕉蛋糕)

         Zozo shared me the recipe of this banana bread. It's an American style home made cake. It's easy to prepare and very satisfying for a afternoon tea. I like the coarse and soft texture from the whole wheat flour, small pieces of dry figs mixed inside and the roasted walnuts on top. And it's a good way to finish ripe bananas.
